Commercial Mail Receiving Compliance

Mail handling regulations in the United States encompass the careful management of others' mail. For a business to receive mail on a tenant's behalf, proper authorization is mandatory.

Why is compliance important?

The U.S. Postal Service regulates how mail can be received and handled. USPS also dictates required procedures for CMRAs to follow.

Commercial Mail Receiving Agency

A Commercial Mail Receiving Agency (CMRA) is a privately owned enterprise that undertakes the responsibility of receiving mail from the Postal Service for intended recipients. This mail is retained, usually in a private mailbox known as a "PMB," or forwarded to a different location with newly paid postage.

At MX Global Center, we serve as your designated Commercial Mail Receiving Agency (CMRA) for your Virtual Mail Address.

To enable this service, individuals renting a mailbox need to grant permission to the CMRA through a comprehensive identity verification procedure. This process guarantees that the CMRA has duly validated the identity of each renter. To comply with the regulations set forth by the United States Postal Service, renters are required to complete and sign Form 1583 (Delivery of Mail through Agent), which authorizes access to their postal mail.

For MX Global, acting as a CMRA within the framework of USPS regulations necessitates explicit consent from renters to manage their mail. Additionally, MX Global must establish the authenticity of a renter's identity before accepting their mail. This involves the provision of two forms of identification and the completion of a designated CMRA form.

To streamline and ensure adherence to these regulations, MX Global employs the vOfiz Pilotomail platform. This technology not only aids in the compliance process but also simplifies identity verification, ultimately facilitating a seamless experience for clients.

Important:

In order to process and manage your correspondence, it is necessary to complete the Compliance Verification process. You will have a grace period of 7 days from the opening of your mail.vofiz account to complete this verification process. After this grace period, you will continue to receive notifications of received mail, but we will be unable to process your correspondence.
